CHURCH REGULATIONS REGARDING FAST & ABSTINENCE
Abstinence from meat (beast or fowl) is to be observed by all Catholics 14 years old and older on Ash Wednesday and on all the Fridays of Lent. This obligation prohibits eating of meat, but not eggs, milk products, or condiments of any kind, even though made from animal fat.
Fasting means limiting oneself to one full meal on given fast days. Catholics who are 18 years of age but not yet 59 are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. On fast days, two additional smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength. However, the two smaller meals together may not equal one full meal. Moreover, eating solid foods between meals on fast days is not permitted.
Todos los católicos mayores de 14 años deben observar la abstinencia de carne (animal o ave) el Miércoles de Ceniza y todos los viernes de Cuaresma. Esta obligación prohíbe el consumo de carne, pero no de huevos, productos lácteos ni condimentos de ningún tipo, aunque estén hechos de grasa animal.
El ayuno consiste en limitarse a una comida completa en determinados días de ayuno. Los católicos mayores de 18 años, pero menores de 59, están obligados a ayunar el Miércoles de Ceniza y el Viernes Santo. En los días de ayuno, se permiten dos comidas más pequeñas adicionales si es necesario para mantener las fuerzas. Sin embargo, las dos comidas juntas pueden no equivaler a una comida completa. Además, no se permite comer alimentos sólidos entre comidas en los días de ayuno.

LENTEN LUNCHEON & DEVOTION This year will be at the This year will be at the Aurora United Methodist Church on Carnation Drive in Aurora. They will be hosting the Ministerial Alliance Lenten Luncheon & Devotional on Wednesdays starting the first luncheon will be on Feb. 25th at 12:00pm to 12:45pm .Cost is a love offering. The money raised will go to the Ministerial Alliance for help those in need. Each week a different church in the Aurora / Verona area will provide the meal and there will be a different pastor each week for the devotional message. This is open to everyone, so bring a friend along for some fellowship with other Christians during Lent. Sacred Heart will have our turn for the meal on March. 18th and Fr. Rahab will do the devotion on February 25th.
ALMUERZO Y DEVOCIÓN DE CUARESMA Este año será en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Aurora en Carnation Drive en Aurora. Organizarán el Almuerzo y Devocional de Cuaresma de la Alianza Ministerial los miércoles, comenzando el primer almuerzo el 25 de febrero de 12:00 p.m. a 12:45 p.m. .. El costo es una ofrenda de amor. El dinero recaudado se destinará a la Alianza Ministerial para ayudar a los necesitados. Cada semana, una iglesia diferente en el área de Aurora / Verona proporcionará la comida y habrá un pastor diferente cada semana para el mensaje devocional. Esto está abierto a todos, así que trae a un amigo para tener compañerismo con otros cristianos durante la Cuaresma. El Sagrado Corazón tendrá nuestro turno para la comida el 18 de marzo y el Padre Rahab hará la devoción el 25 de febrero.
K C FISH FRY’S The next K.C. Fish Fry is Friday, March 6th at Holy Trinity 5-7pm dine in or carry out. Cost is $12 for adults & $8 for children 11 and under. Menu: Fish, French Fries, Cole Slaw, Cornbread, Brown Beans & Dessert. Grilled Cheese option for Children. Stations will be going on at 5:30pm in the Church.
El próximo K.C. Fish Fry será el viernes 6 de marzo en Holy Trinity de 5 a 7 p. m. para comer en el lugar o para llevar. El precio es de $12 para adultos y $8 para niños menores de 11 años. Menú: Pescado, papas fritas, ensalada de col, pan de maíz, frijoles marrones y postre. Opción de sándwich de queso a la plancha para niños. Las estaciones comenzarán a las 5:30pm en la iglesia.

So warm up that Crock-Pot, dust off that apron, and enter our February 28th Chili Dinner and Family Game Night Cook Off! Is just reading this making you hungry, but you couldn't cook a frozen dinner if it were already thawed? You're in Luck! The Chili Dinner and Family Game Night is for EVERYONE! The VCCW will provide beverages and condiments. This is a fundraiser, so don't forget your wallet! This event's proceeds go to fixing our church steeple! The Chili Dinner and Family Game Night begins at 5:00 in the parish hall! We can't wait to see you on the 28th! (See the sign-up sheet in the church entryway to enter the cook off!)

BUS Holy Trinity is offering seats on the bus to the Diocesan Eucharist Congress in West Plains this August. You need to register soon for the Diocesan Eucharist Congress as seats are limited in West Plains. Information is on the bulletin board in the back of church about registration.
