Blessing of Homes on the Feast of the Epiphany, January 5th An ancient custom is the blessing of homes with chalk on the Feast of the Three Kings. Chalk is a symbol that reminds us of the dust from which we were created. The chalk is used to mark the numbers of the New Year plus the initials of the Three Kings, Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar – 20+C+M+B+25. The initials also remind us of the Latin saying: (Christus mansionem benedicat.) Christ bless this house.
Bendición de los Hogares en la Epifanía, 5 de Enero Una costumbre antigua en la iglesia era de bendecir los hogares con tiza. Tiza es una imagen que nos recuerda el polvo de cual fuimos creados. La tiza se usa para marcar 20+C+M+B+25 sobres las puertas de la casa. Los números consagran el Ano Nuevo. Las iniciales no recuerdan de los nombres de los Reyes Magos – Gaspar (Caspar en Latín) – Melchor y Baltasar. También nos recuerdan del dicho en Latin: Christus mansiones bendicat (Cristo bendiga esta casa.)
Attention all Knights! In this secular age of relativism, we need truths to fortify us and help us to further Christ.
YOU ARE INVITED TO BE A PART OF A PROGRAM TO BECOME A STRONGER WITNESS TO CHRIST
We will meet on the 2nd Sunday evening of the month at the home of Mark and Brenda Conn. The time will be 6-8 PM. Snacks will be provided. The schedule will be: Opening prayer, a short video, discussion, and then games to follow. January meeting will be on Spiritual Warfare, followed by games. February meeting will be on Suffering, followed by games. March meeting will be on Evangelization, followed by games. April meeting will be on The Cornerstone, followed by games. We will then break for the remainder of the year and resume next winter. You should bring three things to the gathering: an appetite, a thirst for learning and sharing attitude. Mark and Brenda live at 16001 Lawrence 1170, Aurora MO. In order to see how many will attend, Text Mark at (417) 849-7180 before January 11th.
¡Atención a todos los Caballeros! En esta era secular de relativismo, necesitamos verdades que nos fortalezcan y nos ayuden a seguir a Cristo. ESTÁN INVITADOS A PARTICIPAR EN UN PROGRAMA PARA SER TESTIGOS MÁS FIRMES DE CRISTO.
Nos reuniremos el segundo domingo por la noche de cada mes en la casa de Mark y Brenda Conn. El horario será de 6 a 8 p. m. Se ofrecerán refrigerios. El programa será el siguiente: Oración inicial, un video corto, debate y luego juegos. La reunión de enero tratará sobre la Guerra Espiritual, seguida de juegos. La reunión de febrero tratará sobre el Sufrimiento, seguida de juegos. La reunión de marzo tratará sobre la Evangelización, seguida de juegos. La reunión de abril tratará sobre la Piedra Angular, seguida de juegos. Luego haremos una pausa durante el resto del año y reanudaremos las reuniones el próximo invierno. HOLY TRINITY/SACRED HEART ANNUAL WILD GAME MEAL The Wild Game Meal will be Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 5:30pm at Holy Trinity’s gym. All Holy Trinity-Sacred Heart families are welcome. Bring a dish or dishes according to the number of guests you bring (Wild Game – Fish-Veggie-Salad-or Dessert). We would appreciate some help with door prizes.
