Today is Divine Mercy Sunday. Today, approximately 100 years ago, Jesus Christ appeared to a nun, named Sr. Maria Faustina Kowalska, in Poland. He appeared to her multiple times. As with all such spiritual events, the Church was interested. She was assigned a spiritual director to help her discuss these apparitions. She told her spiritual director that Jesus was appearing to her and that they would have conversations. He asked, ‘what type of things do you discuss?’ She stated that they discuss God’s mercy for the world. He instructed her to begin writing down what they talk about. So she did. She obeyed and began to keep her conversations noted in a diary. Today, we have that diary. We have collected in a book all those conversations Sr. Maria Faustina Kowalska had, who has since been canonized, with Christ. It is called the Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, Divine Mercy in My Soul. In this diary are some of the most beautiful descriptions of the inner feelings and thoughts of God. They are recorded in great detail. If you have ever wondered how God thinks or feels, it’s a great chance to dive into those sentiments. The diary is available to purchase online. Also, along with the book, St Maria Faustina taught a new way to pray. It is called the Divine Mercy Chaplet. It is a prayer with consistent repetitions, similar to the Rosary, but with differing words. The bulk of the works are thus: Eternal God, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, of your dearly beloved Son and our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. It’s a wonderful prayer and is full of a considerable amount of the Church’s theology and doctrine. If we understand the meaning and significance behind those prayers, then we understand the theology of the Church in a multitude ways.. This day, Divine Mercy Sunday, was proclaimed and inaugurated by Saint John Paul II to commemorate and highlight that attribute of our Father that is of most significance to us and is the subject of St. Faustina’s book, God’s Divine Mercy.
Hoy es el Domingo de la Divina Misericordia. Hoy, hace aproximadamente 100 años, Jesucristo se apareció a una monja, llamada Sor María Faustina Kowalska, en Polonia. Se le apareció varias veces. Como en todos los acontecimientos espirituales de este tipo, la Iglesia estaba interesada. Se le asignó un director espiritual para que la ayudara a hablar sobre estas apariciones. Le dijo a su director espiritual que Jesús se le aparecería y que tendrían conversaciones. Él preguntó: '¿De qué tipo de cosas hablan?' Afirmó que hablan de la misericordia de Dios para el mundo. Si alguna vez te has preguntado cómo piensa o siente Dios, es una gran oportunidad para sumergirte en esos sentimientos. El diario está disponible para comprar en línea. Además, junto con el libro, Santa María Faustina enseñó una nueva forma de orar. Se llama la Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia. Es una oración con repeticiones constantes, similar al Rosario, pero con diferentes palabras. La mayor parte de las obras son así: Eterno Dios, te ofrezco el Cuerpo y la Sangre, el Alma y la Divinidad, de tu muy amado Hijo y nuestro Señor, Jesucristo, en expiación por nuestros pecados y los del mundo entero. Por su dolorosa Pasión, ten piedad de nosotros y del mundo entero. Es una oración maravillosa y está llena de una cantidad considerable de la teología y la doctrina de la Iglesia. Si entendemos el significado y la importancia detrás de esas oraciones, entonces entendemos la teología de la Iglesia de muchas maneras. Este día, el Domingo de la Divina Misericordia, fue proclamado e inaugurado por San Juan Pablo II para conmemorar y resaltar ese atributo de nuestro Padre que es de mayor importancia para nosotros y es el tema del libro de Santa Faustina, La Divina Misericordia de Dios.

MAY 30TH NATIONAL EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS PILGRIMAGE Coming Soon! The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will engage the universality of the Church as the Perpetual Pilgrims travel with
the Blessed Sacrament across the country, stopping at churches in both urban and rural areas. Priests will offer Mass in many languages, in different rites of the Church, and with various liturgical musical
styles. Our pilgrims will serve along the route, bringing our Eucharistic Lord to the margins, including encountering those in nursing homes, food banks, and a federal prison. Friday, May 30th, the National
Eucharistic Pilgrimage will be in the Tulsa Diocese. At 11:30 AM, a mass will be held in Miami OK at the Sacred Heart Church and then, we have an opportunity to be a part of the Eucharistic procession
in Downtown Tulsa beginning at 4:00 PM. At 8:00 PM it will arrive at the Holy Family Cathedral. From 8-10 PM a Eucharistic Festival will be held at the Cathedral with an overnight Adoration at the Cathedral.
On Saturday May 31, a Mass at the Cathedral will be held with the Caravan leaving to go to the Oklahoma Diocese. Be a part of this once in a lifetime event.
30 DE MAYO PEREGRINACIÓN AL CONGRESO EUCARÍSTICO NACIONAL ¡Próximamente! La Peregrinación Eucarística Nacional se comprometerá con la universalidad de la Iglesia a medida que los Peregrinos Perpetuos viajen con el Santísimo Sacramento por todo el país, deteniéndose en iglesias tanto en áreas urbanas como rurales. Los sacerdotes ofrecerán la Misa en muchos idiomas, en diferentes ritos de la Iglesia y con varios estilos musicales litúrgicos.
